Are you ready to up your sewing game? If you are a confident sewer and interested in constructing your own dress from scratch, our Drafting Your Own Dress is the perfect class.

Over the course of 3 - three hour classes, you will use your measurements to draft your own sleeveless dress. The 1st class will be an introduction to the process of creating a sloper and taking detailed measurements that Nikki, your instructor, will use to create your sloper. (*Nikki will create the sloper, not the students)

In the 2nd & 3rd classes, you will be using your custom sloper to draft your dress. With your dress pattern, you will then sew a muslin of the dress to get the best fit.  Along the way you will also be learning how to asses fit and make any adjustments to your pattern, muslin, as well as commercial patterns.

This dress pattern will be meant for non-stretch woven fabrics. Note: In class you will be creating a muslin, not a final garment.

NOVEMBER class will be held in our auxiliary workshop space at Indie Craft Experience. 1390 McLendon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307 (the NW corner of McLendon & Oakdale in Candler Park). Photo of studio attached.

This special space is fully equipped for the needs of the class and allows for more intimate instruction and sewing time necessary for this more advanced class. We will not have any additional tools or supplies available for purchase at this location.  Feel free to bring any snacks, drinks that you can heat up in the studio kitchen.
