Pajama pants are a classic & comfy "memade" garment for improving your beginner sewing skills! These pants are comfortable and casual suitable for a man or a woman! This is a great learning garment or ideal for the confident sewist wanting to maximize your handmade wardrobe and a great starting point for anyone wanting to learn to sew pants.
This is a 3 hour class.
We will mail your pattern approx 2 weeks before class. We require that you cut out this pattern before class and bring the pre-cut fabric pattern pieces with you. This allows for you to spend the whole class time sewing. If you need assistance cutting, please contact the shop or take our Intro to Garment Patterns class.
Skills you will learn
The skills you will learn in this class are how to take your measurements and insert elastic.
You've taken one of our intro to sewing classes or have the equivalent amount of experience. You have some basic garment sewing experience such as a pullover top or dopp kit. You know how to thread and use a sewing machine. You've sewn within the last 2 years. You will not be taught to sew in this class so please be sure you already know how to sew!
Materials needed: Recommended fabrics are light to medium weight woven fabrics such as quilting cotton, lawn or chambray. For 44" wide fabric, you will need 3yds. If you would like to make the shorts, you will need 1.5 - 2yds.
Materials provided: The sewing pattern, elastic, a sewing machine, coordinating thread, fabric shears, pins, marking tools, measuring tape, an iron and ironing board.
