One of the sewing community's most popular patterns, we are so excited to be offering this class. In this 2-day advanced beginner class, you will be making the Wiksten Kimono. The Wiksten Kimono is an oversized jacket that is comfortable, stylish and the perfect make for winter. Fully lined and reversible (but with pockets on only one side), it is a fun & satisfying project. The design includes three different lengths to choose from-- short (hip length), mid (below-hip length), and long (thigh length). Pattern and sewing tools included at class.
Fabric not included. Check the pattern back for fabric yardage required for your size. Bring your pre-washed and cut out fabric to class.
-for Main fabric: medium weight woven fabric with good drape, such as textured cotton, chambray, linen, soft denim, cotton/linen blend, twill, and wool
-for Lining fabric: light to medium weight woven fabric with good drape, such as textured cotton, chambray, linen, cotton/linen blend, and silk
-2 1/2 yds flexible, lightweight fusible interfacing
NOTE: To save time and space for your fellow sewists, cut your pattern out before class. We encourage you to stop into the shop before class for help cutting out your fabric if needed.
You've taken one of our intro to sewing classes or have the equivalent amount of experience. You have some basic garment sewing experience such as a pullover top or a-line skirt. You know how to thread and use a sewing machine. You've sewn within the last 2 years. You will not be taught to sew in this class so please be sure you already know how to sew!
Materials needed: See your required fabric yardage on the back of the pattern and bring your fabric pre-washed to class.
Materials provided: The Wiksten Kimono pattern, a sewing machine, coordinating thread, fabric shears, pins, marking tools, measuring tape and an iron.
