Put a little pep in your step by wearing your very own handmade espadrilles! In this 3 hour class, you'll learn to make the perfect, comfortable shoe! This class is great for beginners who have a little bit of sewing experience. In class you will finish one shoe and possibly get started on the second, which you can later finish at home. Shoe bases are included in your class. At check out please let us know your shoe size! Please note the bases go up to size 9. If you are a 10, we can order the wedge base but not a flat sole base. If you are between sizes, size down as the shoe bases only come in whole sizes.
Skills you will learn: Simple shoe pattern reading and hand sewing techniques for espadrilles.
Skills expected: You've taken one of our intro to sewing classes or have the equivalent amount of experience. You know how to thread and use a sewing machine. You've sewn within the last 2 years. You will not be taught to sew in this class so please be sure you already know how to sew!
Materials needed: One fat quarter of fabric (18x22 in) Suitable fabrics are quilting cotton, light weight denim, lighter weight canvas.
Materials provided: The espadrille shoe bases, thread, needles, pins, and all sewing materials.
