The Kalle Shirt is a chic and satisfying intermediate sewing pattern that will soon become a staple in your wardrobe. In two 3 hour class sessions, you will be making View A. The shirt features kimono sleeves with arm cuffs, and a dramatically shaped hem. Fabric not included. Check the pattern back for fabric yardage required for your size. Bring your precut & washed fabric to class.
Note: To save time and space for your fellow sewists, please arrange to collect your pattern and cut your pattern out before class. If you are not able to collect your pattern, please let us know and we will mail it to you! We encourage you to stop into the shop before class for help cutting out your fabric if needed.
Skills you will learn: The skills you will learn in this class are sewing a continuous button placket, adding a shirt collar, buttons & buttonholes and sewing on a pocket.
You've taken one of our intro to sewing classes or have the equivalent amount of experience. You know how to thread and use a sewing machine. You have some basic garment sewing experience such as a pullover top or a-line skirt. You have experience reading and cutting out a pattern. You've sewn within the last 2 years. You will not be taught to sew in this class so please be sure you already know how to sew!
Materials needed: See your required fabric yardage & button information on the back of the pattern and bring your fabric pre-washed to class. We have a lot of great choices for this shirt at the shop.
Materials provided: The Kalle sewing pattern, a sewing machine, coordinating thread, fabric shears, pins, marking tools, measuring tape and an iron.
