Sign up for our 3 day jeans making workshop with Kari!
This workshop is an add on to our Topstitch Makers retreat on June 8-12. This is for the jeans making workshop only (vs the entire event.)
You can choose from a few different patterns: Ames Jeans, Ginger Jeans, or Noice Jeans. We will provide an intake form closer to the date of the retreat to gather information such as which pattern you want to make. If there is a different jeans pattern you want to make, email usand we will let you know if it’s a pattern you can use in the workshop. Jeans makers will need to purchase their patterns and supplies before the workshop.
There will be two Zooms late April leading up to the workshop to discuss fitting, jeans supplies and cutting out. Jeans makers will need to cut the fabrics before arrival but will have guidance from Kari on cutting out. Once we have jeans making registrants, we will schedule the Zooms and notify you of the dates.
In this workshop students will learn fitting tips and tricks to get the fit right, learn various seam finishes, learn to sew with a denim needle and thread, learn tidy topstitching, pocket assembly and proper placement, learning to sew a zip or button fly front, how to sew a neat waistband, how to apply rivets and hem your jeans.
This is an advanced workshop. Please be sure you have intermediate sewing skills.
Materials needed: Denim for your size (see yardage based on measurements on the back of your pattern), 200 yards of denim topstitching thread, a zipper or buttons for a button fly, rivets.
Maximum number of participants for this jeans workshop: 8
