Virtual Class! SPECIAL GUEST - Cris Wood Envelope Dress

The Cris Wood Envelope Dress is a super fast and easy zero waste dress pattern that you will want to make several of. It's already become a fan favorite around here. We are even lucky enough to have Cris, herself, teaching this class!
The Envelope Dress is a versatile loose fitting caftan style dress. There are no pattern pieces to print or cut. These instructions include both a “One Size” option which uses 1.5 yards of woven fabric of any width as well as a customizable option for all sizes and fit styles. If you are above a size 14, you may need 1.75-2yds of fabric. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
The customizable sizing option allows you to grade for any size using a simple formula to help you calculate your personal fabric requirements. Suitable fabrics include woven fabrics with a good drape -lightweight linen, lightweight cottons, silks, rayons, gauze.
The class will be broken up into 2 sessions:
6/20: 5:00-5:30PM EST - Introductions, how to calculate fabric cuts and going over cutting ***cutting & prepping fabric will be homework***
6/21: 5:00-7:00PM EST - Sewing the dress
NOTE: You must know how to sew to take this class. Your teacher will not be going over how to thread your machine.
Skills you will learn: Basic garment construction. Using your measurements to calculate pattern pieces, hemming
Skills expected: You've taken one of our intro to sewing classes or have the equivalent amount of experience. You have some basic garment sewing experience such as a pullover top or a-line skirt. You know how to thread and use a sewing machine. You've sewn within the last 2 years. You will not be taught to sew in this class so please be sure you already know how to sew!
Materials needed: A sewing machine, 1.5 yds fabric. Suitable fabrics include woven fabrics with a good drape -lightweight linen, lightweight cottons, silks, rayons, gauze. Other supplies include thread, measuring tape, fabric marking utensil, scissors.
Materials provided: A pdf of the pattern will be emailed to you prior to class.
